Personal Information Protection Guidelines

Overview

OBDMATE is a driving companion, supports smartphone and tablet via Bluetooth. OBDMate could communicate with the vehicle to complete fault diagnosis and driving assistance etc. To clarify how OBDMATE collects, uses and stores your personal information and what rights you have, we will use this guide to explain the matter to you, the main points as follows:

1. What information is collected, stored and used.

2. What information is stored locally (device and APP) and what information is stored on the server.

3. Information security.

4. What permissions do you need to apply for APP, and why?

Information collect/store/use

We may collect the following information to help us improve our products and services, which will be uploaded to our servers:

1. APP version number, system type, firmware version number.

2. Equipment number.

3. Vehicle year, VIN, manufacturer, model.

The following information will be used for account registration. You can enjoy more services after registration. When the user cancels the account, the following information will be deleted:

1. The account set by the user.

2. The password set by the user.

3. User name, gender, and address. (optional)

 

We do not store any information on the vehicle terminal, and some of the information is stored on the local APP. The information stored on APP as following, which can be reset or deleted by the user:

1. Customized information for the dashboard.

2. Some reports of inspection and diagnosis, such as fault code records, diagnostic reports, performance test reports, driving records, screenshots, etc.

3. The information in settings.

 

Information security

We strive to protect the security of users' information and prevent information loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure.

All information collected is only for improving products and services and not be provided to third parties.

We will use various security measures to ensure information security. For example, we use encryption (eg, SSL), anonymization, close some port numbers with security risks (eg, port 21) and other means to protect your personal information.

We have established specialized management systems, processes and organizations to ensure information security. For example, we strictly limit the range of people accessing information, require them to comply with confidentiality obligations and conduct audits.

In the event of a security incident such as a personal information disclosure, we will initiate an emergency plan to prevent the security incident from expanding and inform you by push notifications, announcements, etc.
